All students at Shendy's
are evaluated on the first day of classes to ensure they have been placed in the
right level / class. Please remember to bring past report cards or
certifications with you at the start of each session. This is optional for
returning swimmers only.
Red Cross Instructor Trainer
This course is designed to prepare candidates to teach the new Red Cross Leaders Program. The 20 hour training session is not only necessary to teach Leaders, but is also a requirement of becoming a Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer. The course focuses on how to teach young adults to teach, knowing your candidates, basic adult learning principles, developing objectives based on evaluation criteria, and effective use of facilitation methods. As an Apprentice Instructor Trainer, candidates must assist in teaching 50% of an Instructor course with a certified Instructor Trainer. The course and apprenticeship must all be completed within 2 years, using a maximum of 2 evaluated and supervised courses.

This level is evaluated by a Red Cross Master Instructor Trainer.
