All students at Shendy's
are evaluated on the first day of classes to ensure they have been placed in the
right level / class. Please remember to bring past report cards or
certifications with you at the start of each session. This is optional for
returning swimmers only.
Red Cross Instructors
This is a course to prepare candidates to instruct the Water Safety Programs. Candidates experience, analyze and apply the AquaTots, AquaQuest and AquaAdults programs curriculum. The principles of injury prevention, inclusion, progressive learning, and Red Cross Fundamental Principles are reinforced. Certified Water Safety Instructors must renew their certification every two years. -courtesy of The Red Cross

Course Content:
The Water Safety Instructor Course develops the following competencies: Class Management, Teaching, Evaluation, Safety Supervision, Leadership, Communication, Administration, Physical Abilities. A volunteer teaching component is also a course requirement.
