A minimum of two people per class is required. Please inquire for more information.

The modules are divided into the following categories:

3. CPR (Adult)
4. Conscious and Unconscious Obstructed Airway (Adult and Child)
5. CPR (Child and Infant)

Each module can be enrolled in individually, however it is recommended that participants attempt to participate in as many of these life saving courses as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions About The Adult First Aid Clinic:
Why Should I Enroll In An Adult First Aid Clinic?
Simply put, you have the ability to save lives. All you need is the knowledge and experience to do it. Shendy's Swim School's Adult First Aid Clinics are designed to give you that knowledge and experience that can save lives.

Why Is First Aid Important To Me?
Most of us at one point or another in our lives had had to deal with an injury that required first aid. The injury may have been as minor as a paper cut, or as major as a Stroke or Heart Attack; but how many of us actually knew what do in the situation? How many of these situations could have been avoided to begin with? Studies have shown that individuals who are trained in First Aid are safer in the workplace and at home, preventing as many as 20-30% of injuries and 40-45% of personal injuries. Knowing the proper First Aid techniques not only saves lives, it also reduced the number and severity of injuries and promotes recovery. Ontario usually has 141 to 188 drownings per year. Drowning is one of the leading causes of death for Canadian children aged 1-4. The most common location for infant drowning is the bathtub. 95% of the time you will be required to administer first aid you will be helping a family member, friend or co-worker.The need for getting trained has never been higher, because we can teach you to prevent horrible accidents from becoming fatal, and in many instances, from ever happening.

I've Taken First Aid In The Past, Why Should I Take It Again?
There are many ways to answer this question. For starters studies have shown that first aid treatment (CPR in particular) have very low retention levels. Studies have shown that after 30 days more than 50% of the skills learned are forgotten, and that after 90 days, the skill retention level is at a scary 30%. However, it has been proven that the more these skills are practiced, the better the retention level of the student, and the Red Cross encourages individuals to be retrained at least once a year. Further Shendy's Swim School's clinics include quick reference sheets so that you can continue to practice after the course has been completed. Also, as first aid continues to be researched, more effective techniques are always being instituted, and often replace older technique. Shendy's Swim School only teaches the newest and most proven techniques for First Aid.

What Standards Are Taught In The Clinic?
All the first aid techniques taught in these course comply strictly with the Canadian Red Cross and Life Saving Society.

What Certifications Will The Instructor Hold?
Instructors hold a minimum certification of Life Saving Society Bronze Cross, Life Saving Society Instructors and Red Cross Instructors. Though for the purposes of these clinics we will always attempt to provide instructors who are even further trained.

Can I Take Part In The Clinic While My Child Is Taking A Swim Lesson?
Yes! We feel being trained in first aid is extremely important and so we are attempting to make these classes as widely available and as convenient as possible.

Do I Need To Get Wet?
